Charity Case - The Hottest Band in the Land !

Safari Miles - June 19th. Denver, NC

Hot, hot, hot at Safari Miles Saturday night (June 19th) for what was Charity Case's first appearance at the Denver, NC restaurant/pub. In celebration of Safari Miles one year anniversary, Charity Case, with help from opener Four Friends and a Roadie, brought a fantastic show to the extravaganza.

Soaking rain about an hour before show time, didn't keep the standing room only crowd away from this outdoor event, but it did have the band and crew running for cover just after sound check. Quick reflexes and ingenuity by these guys salvaged what could have easily put a damper on this party.

It's been said before, "The only thing they (the band) have in common is fatherhood." So on Father's Day Eve, it was especially pleasing for these dads to see so many children “Bust(in’) a Move”, part of a medley which features Eddie Z’s famous rendition of “Rapper’s Delight” rounding out the segment with “Brick House” and “Walk This Way”.

The CC beads were flying for all those who helped out by shaking it one time to AC/DC's "Shook Me All Night Long", nearly shaking drummer, Shane Marshall, right out of his chair.

I told you he would be back, Craig Landau fired up the guitar one more time for charity by filling in for the absent Clifton Vann, taking care of a little business. As expected, the well prepared guitarist never missed a beat.

For their first gig at Safari Miles, Charity Case was warmly welcomed, but clearly by the encore the energy had reached veteran-like heights from the audience mostly made up of rookies.

That’s it for this edition of Inside Charity Case.
