Charity Case - The Hottest Band in the Land !

The Rock Garden - October 23rd. Lincolnton, NC

It was another wild night, Saturday October 23rd when Charity Case made its way back to The Rock Garden in Lincolnton with first-time opener Dink Murdoch. It’s been a year and a half since “Kick Start My Heart” topped the set list, but this Rock Garden crowd hopped to the dance floor, the stage, the bar… from the first note.

You’re right that wasn’t Shane Marshall behind the drums. But it was surely a pleasure to have Stephen Scherer, general manager of Charlotte’s Guitar Center, making his Charity Case debut. It appeared that Stephen had a pleasurable evening as well.

Seriously, only a talented musician like Stephen could have filled this tall order on such short notice, learning the entire set in just a few days, including new tunes not previously performed by Charity Case.

New tunes included, “Ain’t Talkin Bout Love” and “Poundcake” both by Van Halen. Eddie Z even broke out the striped Frankenstein drill, giving “Poundcake” that truly authentic sound.

Rounding out what could be dubbed as Van Halen Night was Charity Case standard rocker “Panama”. This triple shot of Van Halen went down smooth as silk, leaving The Rock Garden screaming for more. And more they shall have when Charity Case returns as Aceless on New Year’s Eve.

For now, I'll be watching for you, Inside Charity Case.
