Charity Case - The Hottest Band in the Land !

Double Door at the Lake
- December 10th. Cornelius, NC

It was the largest crowd ever for the Double Door at the Lake Friday night, December 10th. Charity Case packed the house along with opener Mooch for a rocking evening filled with dancing, head banging and plenty of beads.

The energy was running hot early in the CC set when Roadie Rob made an appearance on stage to assist Ace for what is now classic Charity Case, a medley of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and “Bawitdaba” by Kid Rock. This particular medley, my personal favorite, has been a long-time standard for the band and never ceases to heighten the intensity of any room.

Competing for favorite medley, a new addition has peaked some interest. Follow this, ladies and gentlemen. Charity Case gets it started with “Fantastic Voyage” from Lakeside and moves along briskly to “It Takes Two”, Rob Base. Then really kicks it into high gear with “The Humpty Dance”, Digital Underground and “You Dropped the Bomb on Me” by the Gap Band. Topping off this out of control song frenzy, Ace belts out Led Zeplin’s “Whole Lotta Love”…Wow!

And if you think that made them tired, you’re wrong, Charity Case pushed it to the limits, performing for nearly three hours straight. I got the feeling more was agreeable to both the band and audience, only the fast approaching 2 a.m. wouldn’t allow for it.

More will have to wait until the next edition of Inside Charity Case.
