FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOCAL BAND FOR
CHARITY TO BEGIN FAREWELL TOUR
Charity Case, For Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids
To Stop Performing
CHARLOTTE, N.C. –
January 15, 2009 –
Charity Case, a
local not-for-profit band will embark on their
“Blood, Sweat, and Cheers”
farewell tour from now through June 2009. Final concerts
will be at frequented venues in the area along with a few feature
performances around the Charlotte region. In their 8 years
together the band has raised over $600,000 for Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids, a 501 (c) 3 charity
for children who are terminally ill and chronically disabled.
Charity Case has
performed over 200 shows and began in 2001 as a radio “bit” on the
syndicated Ace & TJ Show heard locally on Kiss 95.1 (WNKS-FM).
“It has been the most
amazing experience and we feel blessed to have touched so many
people’s lives. We have exceeded all of our dreams, done things
many said were impossible.” stated Eddie Z, Charity Case guitarist
and music director.
“This started out as a
radio ‘bit’ and it has become one of the most incredible
experiences imaginable. The band and crew is a special group of
people who donate their time to make the dreams of children who
are terminally ill and chronically disabled come true. They are
the true meaning of charity” said Ace of the Ace & TJ Show,
Charity Case lead vocalist.
Each year Ace & TJ’s
Grin Kids takes a plane load of children who are terminally ill
and chronically disabled and their families on a
once-in-a-lifetime, all-expenses paid, dream vacation to Disney
World. Charity Case has been one of the main sources of funding
for Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids since it’s inception.
